Spinnaker Yacht Club offers a 'Sailing Day Camp'
San Francisco Bay Area has
some of the finest sailing in the world. Part of the joy of sailing is
knowing how to handle your vessel properly and safely. Spinnaker Yacht
Club opens its doors each summer to children ages 10-18 to learn proper
and safe boat handling.
Students will learn basic
sailing, water safety, rules of the sea, and nautical terms. The course
structure consists of 50% classroom instruction and 50% on-the-water training
in Spinnaker Yacht Club’s state-of-the-art Dewitt Sail trainers. Students
will be required to demonstrate the ability to tread water, and to swim for a
short distance. No previous sailing experience is required.
